This rice was my comfort food when I lived in NYC. The owner of the Thai restaurant generously shared the simple recipe when I moved South.

Read MoreClassic. Southern. Simple. Pimento Cheese is the perfect bring-a-long to a gathering and a go to in the fridge. A satisfying snack with veggies or crackers. Fantastic topper for burgers and eggs. And a coveted lunchbox sandwich. The best part…super quick to make and keeps well (though it won’t last).

Read MoreNothing I like better than an unexpected veggie side dish, vibrantly flavored but a snap to make! Bags of cauliflower rice make this effortless and I promise you will struggle not to gobble it all up.
Read MoreComfort food reminds us of good seasons and tastes like love. It’s also almost always easy to make. This one skillet family feast is easy to make, easy to clean up, and oh so satisfying.
Read MoreI want Tom Kha…but I just don’t keep galangal, lemongrass, and kaffir lime leaves on hand (yes, I do have fish sauce, but I bet it is expired). This wonderful soup base packs a good bit of the flavor depth without all the ingredients and technique. You really don’t even have to add things in steps. Just throw everything in a pot and simmer. Still fab!

It can be a sandwich condiment, pizza topper, a sauce for pasta, take egg dishes to next level yumminess, amp up roasted veggies, melted over roast chicken, a fabulous addition to seafood and be a secret ingredient in soups, stews, hamburgers, meatloaf. Seriously...there is so much more!
My dad loved French Onion Soup. These are the french crocks that I grew up with so this is comfort food on every level for me. You can find so many recipes out there BUT hands down none will ever beat Julia Child’s. Her technique to perfectly caramelize the onions is worth the extra time (hands off!) because of the depth of flavor. Try this...promise you won’t regret it!
