I saw this on food network years ago via @thepioneerwoman and it’s a family favorite. Now that I’ve moved to Birmingham with Chilton County peaches, well DANG!
Read MoreI love this recipe by @melissadarabian ...it’s a crowd pleaser and my kids eat it up! I follow her recipe to the tee ... only subbing out the vegetable oil with olive oil. But this time I was able to buy fabulous Bone Broth @pepperplacemarket so I subbed out the chicken stock as well (I'm getting in those functional foods: apple cider vinegar, bone broth).

Read MoreChances are that you, or someone very close to you, suffers from this silent disease. The prevalence of PCOS is steadily on the rise as more and more women find themselves facing that glass wall of frustration and pain. As someone who has struggled with a very similar condition for a decade, take my word when I say that life with an endocrine disorder is far from normal.

Read MoreThere are certain foods I become obsessed with making. Scones are one of those foods. My obsession began in NYC working above Dean & DeLuca. I have so many variations and make them according to what is in season. So, blackberry lemon scones are on deck today. Wonderful with coffee but not overly sweet. Just enough.
Read MoreSeriously Carol. Chopped liver post 😂.
I get it....kinda because I gotta be straight up. I love this stuff. I’ve waited 51 years for my mom to show me how she makes her chopped liver. This is Home to me. This is my Dad (and even in his last days of dialysis would say “Cash, pack a little chopped liver & a little slice of rye”. ) And now it’s a great afternoon with my mom.

Read MoreFunctional foods are foods that go beyond just basic nutrition. They are believed to have a positive impact on your health. Rather than super, functional. You say tomato. I say ..... you get it.
Read MoreSometimes you just have to throw together a Greek Salad. Doesn’t seem to be the time for Romaine😳, so I opted for baby arugula as the base.
Grilled Whole Red Snapper. Done! 🤗 I decided (because I prepped Tzatziki for the week)to find a Greek inspired recipe. The most daunting moment was halfway through grilling, I realized I had to SERVE the fish...well I was not the waiter in Julia & Julie deftly removing fillet from bone, but it wasn’t a disaster so I’m calling this a cooking adventure WIN (and the kids all ate it too).
Read MoreYou know me...if life would let me (I.e., kids, hubby, dog...) I would be whipping up Julia Child’s Boeuf Bourguignon on the daily. BUT I ain’t got six uninterrupted hours. So in my usual fashion....I ask how can I get all the flavor more efficiently (lazy is key to innovation). So here you go....my take. This is 2 1/2 hours, start to finish. But only 20 mins hands on. The rest is for your oven to work it’s magic. The best part...it tastes better the next day.
Read MoreA friend sent me a song to listen to yesterday, Jerry Garcia's live version of Dylan's "Going, Going, Gone." It's a beautiful 15 minute ballad performed in Garcia's distinct style. He opens with the usual song lyrics and after a few minutes he breaks into a bluesy jam that continues uninterrupted for 6 or 7 minutes. And for those minutes I was completely lost in the song and my thoughts went silent.
